Love You Mark!! Be Safe Boy!

"American Soldier"

I'm just trying to be a father,
Raise a daughter and a son,
Be a lover to their mother,
Everything to everyone.
Up and at 'em bright and early,
I'm all business in my suit,
Yeah, I'm dressed for success from my head down to my boots,
I don't do it for money, there's still bills that I can't pay,
I don't do it for the glory, I just do it anyway,
Providing for our future's my responsibility,
Yeah I'm real good under pressure, being all that I can be,
And I can't call in sick on Mondays when the weekends been to strong,
I just work straight through the holidays,
And sometimes all night long.
You can bet that I stand ready when the wolf growls at the door,
Hey, I'm solid, hey I'm steady, hey I'm true down to the core,
And I will always do my duty, no matter what the price,
I've counted up the cost, I know the sacrifice,
Oh, and I don't want to die for you,
But if dying's asked of me,
I'll bear that cross with an honor,
'Cause freedom don't come free.
I'm an American soldier, an American,
Beside my brothers and my sisters I will proudly take a stand,
When liberty's in jeopardy I will always do what's right,
I'm out here on the front lines, so sleep in peace tonight.
American soldier, I'm an American,
An American,
An American Soldier

Everytime I hear that song I think of Mark. So another post to Mark so he knows that we are thinking of him and I know that he checks here every so often so I hope that he gets to see this. We All Love You and Miss You Very Much Boy!!

The Kid Has Gone To Colors
Unknown

The kid has gone to the Colors
And we don't know what to say;
The kid we have loved and cuddled
Stepped out for the flag to-day.
We thought him a child, a baby
With never a care at all,
But his country called him man-size
And the kid heard the call.
He paused to watch the recruiting,
Where, fired by fife and drum,
He bowed his head to Old Glory
And thought that it whispered: "Come!"
The kid, not being a slacker,
Stood forth with patriot-joy
To add his name to the roster,
And God, we're proud of the boy!
The kid has gone to the Colors
It seems but a little while
Since he drilled a school-boy army
In a truly martial style.
But now he's a man, a Soldier,
And we lend him a listening ear,
For his heart is a heart all loyal,
Unscourged by the curse of fear.
His dad, when he told him, shuddered,
His mother-God bless her!-cried;
Yet, blest with a mother-nature,
She wept with a mother-pride.
But he whose old shoulders straightened
Was Grandad-for memory ran
To years when he, too, a youngster,
Was changed by the Flag to a man!

Peyton's Birthday

Peyton had such a wonderful birthday filled with lots of love from friends and family. It is crazy how a year can go by in the blink of an eye. That tiny little baby that we brought home from the hospital is now a walking jabbering bundle of joy. Peyton brings joy to Mark her brothers and I everyday. We will have many more birthdays like this for you baby girl. We love you with all of our heart Pey Pey.

A One-year Old Daughter

A One-year-old daughter is so many things
A tiny discoverer of butterfly wings,
A hugger of Teddies,
A sweet sleepyhead,
And someone to dream for in bright years ahead...
A special new person
Who, right from the start,
Has a place in the family
And, of course, in your heart.
And, just when you think
That you've learned all the things
That your dear Daughter is
And the joy that she brings,
A hug or a grin
Comes with such sweet surprise
That love finds you smiling
With tears in your eyes!

One day before my baby girls birthday

A mother's words of love to her daughter
PRECIOUS GIFT
© Sherri Lawrence
When times seem too hard to bear & I l feel like giving up

I vision your beautiful face, the twinkle of your eyes and things of such
The bond we created from my womb to the day you were born
Is a mother and daughter bind that can never be torn
With the strength and guidance of God and the blessings he pours down from above
I want to be the best mom I can be to you and embrace you with all my love
You are as precious as a flower and as gorgeous as a rose
You have been specially made to the very tip of your nose
You are as sweet as honey; such an innocent young child
You are brighter than any star in the sky every time you smile
I want you to be proud of who you are and strive to be the best
Put forth your efforts to achieve your goals and let God do the rest
I will always be your mother first, but I'm also your friend
Your are the most precious gift, that I've ever been given

With All My Love, Mommy

Tomorrow 1 year ago was one of the happiest days of my life. My First daughter was born and I could not hold back the tears of seeing this beautiful little girl in my arms. Well.... Today I still feel that exact same way. There are only three little people in this world who can make me weak in the knees. I just can't believe 1 year has past. I am sad and yet I am joyed that our little girl is growing up. I no longer have that baby who needs me at all times and a mother likes that feeling. (No matter how much we say oh I can't wait till you can start doing things on your own. lol)

I will blog tomorrow after the big cake festivities. hehe
